Cattleya leopoldii, Impressive Orchid From Brazil

This plant is so impressive, Cattleya leopoldii, one of the highly popular orchids of Cattleya family.

This fragrant orchid is found in Brazil and usually grows on trees and shrubs near coastal sand dunes. The plants with 1 meter tall have two or three leathery leaves. They can produce about 20 flowers or more per spike. The flower size about 7-11 cm with deep brown and deeper burgundy spots. They enjoy in intermediate temperature and usually flowering in summer.

Cattleya leopoldii very similar to Cattleya guttata. Previously, they were considered as a variety, but now they are classified separately.
